Method
- Mix milk and flour into a heavy bottom pot.
- Bring to a boil until thickened, whisking all the while. It will be lumpy.
- Cool.
- Cream together butter, sugar, vanilla, salt. To your creamed mixture add the cooled milk/flour mixture and whip until nice and fluffy.
- Remember, frostings and fillings made with butter are not shelf stable like the frostings made with shortening and should be stored in the refrigerator.
