No Pectin Strawberry Jam

This homemade strawberry jam is a simple, wholesome treat that captures the sweetness of summer in every jar. Made with just fresh strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice, it’s a delightful way to preserve the season’s best fruit without the need for commercial pectin. The natural flavor shines through, thickened slowly on the stove the old-fashioned way.

Whether spread on warm bread or enjoyed by the spoonful, this jam brings comfort and joy to the table—and makes a thoughtful gift from the heart.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh finely cut strawberries. Or 2 cups frozen thawed strawberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 TBS fresh lemon juice

Method

  1. If using Frozen strawberries drain off some extra liquid and run through blender if you want a less chunky jam. Stir all ingredients together and cook until thick- approx. 1-2 hours depending on how much liquid was in frozen strawberries.
  2. If using fresh strawberries, heat strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice until they start releasing their liquid, then mash with a potato masher or blend to get a smoother jam. Simmer until a bit of cooled jam is thick and not runny. About 30-45 minutes.

I have been searching for a recipe that only uses natural ingredients. This one is AMAZING! I wanted a recipe for Jalapeno Strawberry Jam. I doubled this recipe and added about 1 cup of chopped jalapenos. It is honestly the best ever! Thank you so much for sharing your world with us!
