Little Cheddar Meatloaves

This meat recipe, served with potatoes and a veggie makes many a complete meal for our family.
Cook Time 1 hour

Ingredients

Meatloaves

  • 2 lbs ground beef (I often use 1lb venison and 1 lb beef since my family isn't keen on venison on its own and this recipe hides the gamey flavor of venison well.)
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1-2 cups shredded cheese (cheese can be expensive and I have halved the cheese and still gotten rave reviews, our favorites are cheddar and gouda although I have used just about any kind with success)
  • 1 cup oats quick or rolled
  • 2 eggs
  • 1.5 cups milk

Sauce

  • 1.5 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tsp prepared mustard
  • 1/2 tsp liquid smoke optional

Instructions

  • Mix all meatloaves ingredients together and form however your family prefers, our favorite way is to shape them into individual sized ‘meat balls’ using a 1/2 or 3/4 cup measuring cup. (They bake faster this way too) I have successfully done this as a ‘meatloaf’ too.
  • After you have your meat shaped and in a baking dish pour sauce over top and bake at 350F for an hour or cover and pop them into the freezer for a later date!
